Will the '77 and up 231 covers fit the 225 or did they change the heads?

From what I have read, the heads did not change.

I believe the bolt spacing in the cover is different.

The bolt spacing changed on the heads, I think on the even fires.

Thanks, I didn't want those chrome bling covers anyway. R)

Yeah, like said, they are different. the bolt hole spacing is just enough different so they don't interchange. Some of the aftermarket aluminum valve covers have "slotted" holes to allow for both bolt patterns though. I have some Holley aluminum's that are like that. (no, not for saleR)).

    Nickmil,

Do you have knowledge of any aftermarket finned aluminum valve covers that fit the 225 AND does not have a brand name on them like Holley or Offenhauser do?

I'm interested in some plain-jane aluminum finned.

Hey, I'm interested in some better valve covers also. Where does one get (look for) these?

I have never seen any like that - even my Kenne Bell ones have thier name on the cover.

    Me neither.
I know Holley quit making them quite a while back. Edelbrock may, not sure. Haven't even seen used Offenhauser's in forever. Basically keep an eye out for used. I got mine at a swap meet. Looked like they'd been underwater but got them for $25 for the pair. Lots of time polishing them and they look decent now.
