I forget how large those bolts are, but they are probably at least 1/4-20? I would think that could easilly take twice the amount that broke it....

I use die grinders (pneumatic) every time I'm doing any work in the garage. lots of bits, wheels and such you can put on them. definitely good...
I have the dash pulled from my 56 right now, I'm about to do the same! not from stainless though
to get 2" of lift from just swapping out shackles.. those shackles would probably have to be over 4" longer than stock, that's getting pretty long.
I put 4" round flush lights on both of my CJs, I think it really looks good that way, as low down on the body as possible.

I would say it probably doesn't have to, especially if the gasket surfaces are good looking and flat.
