    It was a good day. I got the trans lined back up and all most mounted . Finish up tomorrow!

    Thanks i need to hear that , i was getting discouraged with this trans rebuild and then the throw out bearing spring but it is down hill from here !!!

    Well it wwas a good day got the trans in and all hooked up started the engine trans grinding noise is gone . now the the pressure plate is out of line i seen it when it was idling . I think . but the trans noise is gone !!!!!! rebuilt trans shifted good and operated perfectly .

    Got the new clutch in the mail .Hoping the 3rd time is the charm . We have getting the trans in and out down pat .

    I would.......or at least check it for flatness and if flat I would take a DA with and 100 grit on it and lightly knock the glaze off the running surface............

    IDK! I looked inside the bell housing it does not look scared up. It almost looks like it was cut at one point chris,also has 3 cracks on the plate it self

    A few years ago a friend replaced the clutch in his F350 Diesel. His son drove it and we got the call. Towed it home and pulled things apart, again. Dug all of the friction face material out of the starter and the cover plate was cut apart in a few places from the driven disk smacking into it. The kid, just shrugged his shoulders and denied he had done anything. We figure he had it romped up and hit third instead of fifth gear.
    You have had some clutch parts banging around in there. I'm not going to tell you about blowing up the disk in my V6. I was idleing at a stop light...
