The snap rings on Mine usually pop out with a little encouragement from a flat head screwdriver...

AFAIK there's no trick to it. Use a little screwdriver and carefully pry it out. Once you pry the end of the snap ring above the housing, you can grab it and pull it out.

While disassembling my glove box, I found this under one hinge. What is it? I was trying to make a reproduction ofthe hook that holds the lid and I saw it. IMG_20190424_171054875_HDR-816x459.jpg

I use expired insurance cards, maps of places I wont visit again, and rags for checking the oil to pop my glovebox open.

As mentioned above, thats the "spring" to pop the door open. Also, you have the acorn nuts that hold the latch assembly and the extension arm in place. All of the above mentioned parts are scarce or otherwise hard to come by. Be careful not to loose these!

Exhaust valve cover on F134. This engine has combination fuel / vacuum pump. I can't find the circled feature in my manual. Can anyone enlighten me?
    Thanks!

That makes more sense. I have one engine with that on it and one with the big cone on top of the valve cover.

Section C6 in the manual. No pictures though. One drawing on how to clean.

Thanks for the replies. Did they move the valve at some point? The manual I have seems to show the valve on the other side of the engine

PCV not PVC. PVC is plastic pipe.

Does anyone know when the draft tube changed over to PCV in a closed system? I’m just curious.

But if you have one that works you have a Positively Ventilated Crankcase:)

One morning, while driving the bus, I saw a bumper sticker, "Dyslexics of the World: UNTIE". It took me a few moments to figure it out! :)

Anyway, I think the CJs and MBs always had the PCV system. For more pictures of what you have, see Engine Rebuild Page 8 on CJ3B.info

As for when things moved, I don't know for sure. My 1964 CJ5 has the PCV valve on the carburetor side of the F head engine and a large (oil resistant) hose connects between the PCV valve and the port on top of the intake valve cover. The same exhaust valve cover was used in both systems, but a large washer covered the large hole in the exhaust valve cover when the PCV hose connected to the top of the intake valve cover.
