Gas Cap Gasket

    Any ideas on where to get a replacement gasket for gas cap. Mine has cracked and split in 2. Appears to be original factory cap.

    No direct answer, but I bought some rubber gaskets for GI cans a while ago. The rubber was modern crap, swelled and cracked in a short time. Buyer beware.

    on motorcycle oil filter cap . I just got a roll of cork gasket material from local auto parts store
    and made my own

    I would buy Viton sheet from McMaster-Carr and make a new gasket. McMaster-Carr

    Yes. Buna-N would probably be ok. Viton is more chemically resistant.
