    Guys

I'm going to attempt a restart of a 1982 CJ7 that has been sitting for a very long time. If I am unlucky enough to have issues with wiring or computer controls will the carb still function, or does it shut down fuel without operating electronics?

    Thanks

Thanks, guys. I'll take along some fresh fuel in a small jug of gas and some fresh fuel line to try to light this candle. While I will probably not do a proactive nutter bypass, I may do a proactive idle pickup tube cleaning. But first thing is to pull the steering wheel to figure out why I can't turn the key. There is some corrosion in there somewhere. Either the key tumbler, the sector/rack that links tumbler to the actual switch, or the steering wheel lock plunger that pops up into the notches in the lock plate.

My reason for not doing the nutter is that I don't want to introduce too many variables into the troubleshooting diagram (exists only in my head) for initial startup.
