Ok so my 60 Cj5 has the original spring (9 rear / 7 front) the frame is good but the springs have seen better days (Jeep Lean) Not really looking for a "lift" but think even stock replacements will lift the CJ some. I would like a little better ride (yes, I know it is a Early CJ-5) and a bit more flex for off road.

thoughts on the best options? Stock replacements (different leaf count???), 2.5" lift (brand??), …. Ride and flex are going to be key factors but I do like the "original" look.

here it is as she sits right now: upload.jpg

I would go with Deaver if you have the cash. They can make you exactly what you want. I believe they told me $600 for a pair when I was pricing out springs.

I know I have responded to this topic but I will say again that I love my BDS springs 2.5"lift. Unbeatable warranty, military wrap eyes, flex once broken in and just a great spring pack. Price is very reasonable as well.

Your height looks pretty sagged out like mine did before i replaced them. I liked the low look but the driveshaft was even rubbing the bellhousing so something had to be done. I went with stock replacements from crown. Im happy with them. I greased between all the leafs to hopefully help tide the rust and maybe help smoothness. Ride quality stayed about the same. Nice Jeep

I like that with stock springs. Beautiful machine!

I ordered a set from Walck's 4WD. They sold me kit with springs, shackles, shocks and hardware. Their springs are USA made. Very big improvement over the tired lift springs that were on it

That is one sharp Jeep! (y) I had a completely worn out rear driver side spring that I replaced with a 5-leaf unit from Kaiser Willys. Mine is a Tuxedo Park and came with 5 pack leaf springs in the rear. All of my others seem fine so I just replaced the one to get rid of my almost 2” driver side Jeep lean. I also replaced all shocks with new Omix units and I am happy with my ride, but I guess that’s all subjective. I think I may eventually look into BDS to get a little more height, seems like everyone loves them!

Edit: Is that a ventilating windshield? Way cool!!

I'm actually very much past "lift" as I approach 49. Not because I suffer OG maladies that preclude my mounting a hoss. I just now admit that I prefer a mule.

We had mules when we were kids. Mini-bikes of equestrian world. Ate less, could get a green 52" mule for $200. We had fun. Mostly chasing green mules that were all saddle and no rider.
