Aha, Thor automatic hubs: Thor Products & White Automotive (Whitco)

I suspect they are pretty rare.

AFAIK Jeep did not offer a steering stabilizer from the factory until 1972 or 1973. No need - put more preload on the kingpin bearings.

Except older bearings can have vertical grooves worn in them from the rollers, in the 'straight-ahead' position.

Yes, those are Thor Automatics. They work like the Warn Lock-o-Matics, only don't have a "free" dial like the Warns, only I've never noticed the "in/out" slot to lock them. When the 10 spline axle turns, those rollers "cam" or "ramp" out, engaging the drive to the outer housing/hub. I've always assumed they were automatic only.
I've only seen one or two sets in my life. I think they are pretty rare too.

I hope you can get those seats to a Wagon owner as they are very difficult to find if your Wagon didn't come with the original seats. It took me over 3 years to find a decent set, then shipping cost was as much as buying the seats.
Yours aren't a complete set, but close. Wish you were closer!

Fireball and Donny; Thanks for the Help! Not sure what I will be doing with them in the short term. I have a set of Dualmatics on my front wheels currently. I will likely clean them up and keep them around as a set of spare hubs. Need to find some good documents for them to keep around.

I was informed that cable was meant to prevent the fan from contacting the shroud when the engine twisted a bit.

Are you possibly talking about the Engine Stay Cable? (See post #996, etc.)

In fact the stay cable prevents clutch shuddering when reversing, by limiting negative feedback between the clutch linkage and engine mounts.

Thanks for that. I had just recalled back 50 yeas ago when I saw one for the first time and the Jeep guy at the dealership told me about the fan/shroud thing.

Like Pete said........ It doesn't have anything to do with the fan hitting the shroud ?

This weird bracket was on the right rear corner of the 67 CJ5 I recently hauled home. No idea what it could be for, but looks well made.

It's the latch side of a vintage Kayline tire track.

He're the one on my '69:

    Wow that was quick.

Wish I had the rest of it I would use it. Probably explains the piece rusted out or ripped out on the other corner. The damage is a strip of missing metal about 3" wide and about 10" long with some wrap around of the corner. Doesn't look like this Jeep ever had the side mount for the spare.

Yep, here's the other side mount:

Yours likely tore itself off with a combination of rust and weight.

I suppose that is exactly what happened. Thanks for solving the puzzle and I just realized I said it was on the "right" rear corner, but I am from Tennessee after all.

If anyone needs that latch bracket they can have it for the cost of postage. It is a bit pitted with rust but that could be touched up with some feather fill or Bondo.

This "L" shaped bracket was in the tub of a half CJ5 I bought several years ago, along with many other spare parts. Any ideas??
