    Can some body tell me where I can find the VIN number on an eighties CJ8?

    Plate on the firewall, AFAIK. There should also be a dash sticker, in the customary location. There is an '82 TSM at the oljeep site...

    The dash is gone so hopefully I will find the firewall plate.

    There should be a small tag on the inner left-hand side of the windshield frame, viewable through the glass.
