Cj6 Spring Hanger Oddity

    A guy on OWF posted these pics and was wondering what these horizontal pieces on the spring hangers were all about....any ideas...thanks

    Dunno, never seen that before. Likely a PO mod for some purpose.

    What is that on? It looks oddly factory. I also see frame strapping.

    Title says CJ-6 - I assumed that's the original strapping the early ones have. My '75 does not have it.

    If it’s on both the front and rear hangers, my first guess would be some sort of hole to mount running boards?

    Its an early cj6...currently located in Costa Rica - not sure where it was originally produced, but maybe has some sort of military heritage? As Tim said, the early 6's had strapping oem....

    That's pretty interesting. I wonder if the export Jeeps had them? I know my '58 had regular looking spring hangers.

    I'd say the hangers were off another vehicle and were bent up so bubba could get them out of the way and drilled new through holes. Hey, I can say bubba, I was once one.
