Geeze guys get with the program.

    An Appleby:
    1974 Appleby Restoration

    30":
    Firestone NDT Tire 6.00 x 16

And a tube frame because from what I see they aren't much tougher than a harbor freight trailer frame

Now you hook that on your jeepster and tow it.

You should get out more and enjoy the canvas.

But yes if I want a kids size meal on a fancy plate that's the place to go.

This is a Coleman Laramie, I will use it as needed but I would prefer a tent on the m416. This Coleman is over 6' wide but the axle and tires aren't right. Mine can pull it but I wouldn't want something it's size on a trail in Colorado

I borrowed a neighbors tent trailer like that. I had nothing but trouble with the tires. I went through 3 on a trip to Zion. Those little tires get to turning fast. I probably was overloaded...

Hated those tires on our old Jayco. Like the Jeepster though.

And they make small tires like that so cheap.....makes no sense at all.

The windows are cool. What's the tailgate like? Does it have a bulge to lay the tire flat on the bed floor?

No bulge, the tailgate is flat. IDK where the stock spare tire location is.

From this 1967 brochure page, it looks like it was mounted to the floor:

I wonder if the tailgate changed with tire size? I believe you could get the same tires as the CJ got, ie H78-15 Suburbanites. Somehow I remember a tailgate with a bulge in some cases.

I remember the AMC squared nosed ones having the bulged tailgate. I'm not sure if the Kaiser ones ever did.

Not sure why the AMC ones had the bulge. To fit the spare? Some new law requiring the license plate to be vertical? Styling? ...

I opened up the back and under a rusty hi lift, some ancient tire chains, busted jumper cables, and a 40 year old piece of shag carpet, the floor shows no sign of ever having a spare tire on it.

Also, I just discovered that what I thought was a cheesy old under dash AC unit is actually a genuine Jeep cheesy old under dash AC unit!

Is it just me? I see a round outline of what could’ve been a spare tire? Were those two holes holding a mount at some point?

Disclaimer: I know absolutely zilch about commandos.

You guys could be right....it was dusk when I took the photo.
My guess is that it came from Toledo with the spare in the back, and had the swing out carrier installed either at the dealer or not long after purchase.

I was looking at your engine pictures. Looks like you still have the compressor, probably a York. It sure would be nice to have here in Texas. That would be worth getting working, assuming it doesn't already. If you don't keep it hang on to the brackets and pulleys on the engine, they're hard to come by. I found some on EBay for mine in case I decide to add a/c, but it took me awhile.
Also your seats look really good. I like the pinstripe. You scored!

Jeep offered dealer-installed official Jeep AC called "American Air." I would guess that's what you have. (Possible it was called "American" after AMC took over? Jeep dealer air.)
