You should be prepared to spend more than you are prepared to spend.

As for folding down the w/s, it is one of the great pleasures in life to cruise with it down and one of the best things about owning a CJ5. Land Rover fanboys aside, :p, every one who sees it is jealous and immediately wants a Jeep of their own.

Yep, nothing like a few bugs in your teeth. One off of being on a motorcycle. Except I've never collected a wasp down the back of my shirt like I did one day on the Triumph 650TT. Amazing how many time they can stick you before you can stop and get the shirt off------

You're definitely right but what is the actual chance of driving in a narrow place?

All the time, in my woods and hills. Also why I can't/won't use a rollbar.

Took one inside of my helmet one time. My panic stop was like the crash-dive scene in Das Boot.

My wind shield is never up, unless I am looking the motor over or it's raining. Must be the Old Biker in me, I like the wind in my face.

It of course depends on the area, terrain, etc. I had the dealer put the swingaway gas can, spare tire carrier on my new one. Ended up absolutely hated having to open it every time I wanted to get in the back or open the tailgate. I thought it would be cool, boy was I wrong.

Dang. The obvious solution was to just weld up the tailgate------

Frankly, I've never missed not having a tailgate on my 3B but it usually only sees use on trails.

For mine and it's 90% icecream an kid getting. I'll be looking at a sturdy frame and body mounted swing away (vertical slots on body mounts for stability)

I figure it needs to serve as crumple room between the back seat and backing into a phone box.

So, when I was young and hadn't had my JEEP for long, I ran into an older neighborhood guys from when I was a kid. (He was like 7 years my senior and always had jeeps in his parents driveway and garage. Didn't hang around with him because of the age difference but always looked, with envy, at the jeep in the driveway as I rode my bike past their house.) So, we got to talking and I told I was a jeep owner now too and as we talked I mentioned about my full cage and he said he didn't have a roll bar. Surprised, I asked why. Aren't these things dangerous and roll over easily?
He replied that he can't get under the low branches with a roll bar installed. I thought, this dude is doing some gnarly wheeling. He is the one that got me devoted to immediately dropping the windshield as soon I hit the trail (even though the cage is still installed), weather permitting of course. Love it and hate wheeling with the windshield up. When had a cj5, he would take the windshield off completely when he got to the trail, lay it in the weeds behind a tree and come back for it after the wheeling was done.

Once I was out in my jeep and a tree was across the trail. The pull cord on my chainsaw broke on the last tree I cut out. Anyways, the tree was just high enough to sneak under it. The steering wheel just tapped it. Glad I didn't have a roll bar.

I have clipped my side-mounted spare tire twice in tight areas next to downed trees. I am VERY cautious now..
