Thanks Jim and Mike for the book referrals. There To Breathe The Beauty may be hard to find at the bookstore or library. Jim's suggestion is a little more accessible.

There was also an episode about teardrops - I presume this was different from the folding trailers episode?

I also liked the one about the turtle sanctuary (watched a lot of TV when I was in CA last year).

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

    nope
not heard of him and he's not mentioned in the book

the book mentions a 1936 newsreel that states there were over 250,000 people towing trailers in that year alone!
think of the autos back then
you then realize that was no easy task

Like the '34/'35 Kozy Kamp. Guy must be on the same wave length as Boyink. Take a look at the Rambler and Caprice wagon in the vehicles section.

  6. I did like the Kozy Kamp. There was one on eBay that I bid on, but I didn't go very high on it as it was in Sacremento and not roadworthy. Went cheap only about $300 IIRC.

Yeah, I hear you bud. My fevered brain is in overdrive with thinking about how much cool stuff I could cram into one of those little trailers, and sell them to the street-rod guys around here.....

As for the spousal unit, I'd be in deep cu-ca for a very long time if I even THOUGHT about a new project right about now. My next-door neighbor dropped by yesterday while I was a-welding in the driveway and tossed me the keys to his new Triumph and I disappeared for about two hours on it. He had a BSEG on his face when I got back, but Sandy just gave me "the look" IYKWIM. It was a *VERY* quiet evening in our house last night! R)

You guys who have kids and are into camping really should drop by the local library and check out "The Two-ton Albatross" by William Anderson. Absolutely hilarious, and a good read for the camping family around the campfire!
