Does this R&P Set look good to you?

I've asked about this before but still hesitant. There's a R&P set on ebay that looks good but I'd like your opinion. The guy doesn't know much about them but claims they look new. This is his second listing for the set and he's not received any bids. If you were needing a set of 3.73's for your dana 30, would you buy them?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/DANA-30-3-7...ories&hash=item3cc5f56449&vxp=mtr#ht_634wt_67

If the link doesn't work it's listed as DANA 30 3.73 RING AND PINION AND MORE

    Comments appreciated.

Everythings clearly stamped right there on the parts.
So what don't you know ?
It's obviously OEM DANA D30 parts that were manufactured in 1973.
They appear to be new with minor rusting.
It's a very cheap price if you can use them.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

Original factory gear sets don't come very cheap.
Look around on ebay, you'll see sets for $200 or more
I identified the numbers for you in your last post.
They look okay to me, minor rusting is no problem.

Ken, how do you know it's for a D30 - by the Dana PNs? I can read the ratio, but the rest is mysterious.

    Tim
The Dana numbers on this gear set match the numbers in my extra 73 D30.
I confirmed and reported it here.
I also have a document for 71 and prior that matches the Dana numbers to Jeep P/N's.
It couldn't have been any clearer what that listed gear set is for.

The full date of manufacture is stamped into the ring gear 7 3 73

The 33219 is the Dana application code.

And then the obvious final drive reduction ratio of 41 teeth divided by 11 teeth.

Ok, just a bad experience on eBay and I'm being overly cautious on this one. Sorry for addressing this twice.
Thanks for all the responses. Much appreciated.

I looked at two D30 ring gears today and deleted a previous comment because it seemed to be in error.

I did notice that a pinion number seems to always be 1 number below the ring gear number.
In this case the pinion is 33219 and the ring is 33220.

    I have a 47-11 (4.27 ratio) D30 with 7-03-73 build date and the ring gear is # 33248.
    I have a 46-13 (3.54 ratio) D30 with 10-3-77 build date and the ring gear is # 32957

Hmm, are you saying there might be a problem? I'm not following your track.

I believe he's retracting the earlier guess about the A308 number having to do with identifying the machinist.

Seems to me that "I did notice that a pinion number seems to always be 1 number below the ring gear number." is just an interesting observation. Nothing to do with the application/suitability.

    No problem.
I'm just providing some extra data concerning Dana 30 part numbers for future reference.

Thanks for that. Hoping to get this set and not get a POS.
