What kind of hardtop is this?

I've got a lead on a hardtop, and I know they're getting harder to find but I don't know what kind this is. The current owner did say that it was metal, not fiberglass and that he believed that it was a factory top from 1970. Can anyone tell me what kind it is and about how much it might be worth in good condition?

I agree. If you buy it make sure you get the upper and lower hinges and windshield filler pieces. Very hard to find. Depending on condition, location, and time of year up to $650. Around here a nice one that is complete about $500-$550.

    Where are these hinges located?

Driver and passenger door hinges, one each top and bottom per door, on the body side. Filler strips bolt to the windshield frame between the driver and passenger doors and windshield.

Hard to see if they are present in this picture. If they are there, they have been painted body color. They are white (like the top) from the factory.

Are the filler pieces mounted to the side of the windshield and are a part of the door mount as well or do they go on top of the windshield?

On the side of the windshield, contacting the door. They make a seal with the door.

Just talked to the guy and he don't have doors, hinges, or the filler strips. He checked his connections for doors and could get a rough set for around $500..*SHEESH* Knowing all this, roughly how much is the top worth?

No doors, missing parts, roughly nothing. Scrap steel. If the top is missing parts, there's really no source for parts other than another top. I could not give my rusty CJ-6 top away.

It looks to me like the filler strips are still on the Jeep. Hard to tell from that picture, but could be. I know of a source for a couple of doors cheap, and you'd have to make new door hinges. But the top has little value without the doors. The doors are anchor heavy, BTW. And bulky. Shipping from MA would be expensive.

JMO - I would not own another full steel cab. Top heavy, heavy, rattly, cold, (did I mention heavy?) ... the only advantage is lockable doors. Buy a SuperTop and be happy.

Here's what the doors look like - note the hinges. There should be the body side of these that match.

I agree with what Tim said.
My experience with a Meyer steel top-cold in the winter, hot in the summer, top heavy, and rattles like a tin can full of nuts & bolts.

Also: Looking for the Female / body side hinges.........or at least a photo of what they looked like.
