Carb Problems

I have a 1964 CJ5 that keeps having carburetor troubles. Engine (F134) is new rebuild with a new carb. First it was assembled with no fuel filter and was getting trash in it. I finally got that taken care of. (Chips of paint from the gas tank neck was getting into the carb.) Normally I just took the float section apart and cleaned. This week I took everything apart to clean. I found a vinyl thread protector sleeve on one of the screw in fuel flow parts. It was all scrunched up. The float is not attached to the hinged needle lift part and the float was not aligned to the lift arm. The float has two raised guides that are intended to keep it aligned with the lift arm. It appears that that is not working when driving on real bad roads and Jeep is bouncing.

Is there something any of you guys have come up with to correct this?

I did not see a name on it. I did check in the manual and it is not like the one pictured and the instructions are not correct for the carb I have.

If it is a F134 and no marking on the carb then I would guess its a solex - google "F134 and SOLEX" and look in Ebay for picture to see if it matches your carb.
