I am going through some parts I have aquired over the past years and have 2 Lockers that I dont know exactly what they are.

1 is for a Dana 27 and other is for a Dana 44. Can anyone help me ID these and let me know any and all info you know about them and what they may be worth.

    Thanks!

Is there a way to find out what gear ratio they would work with?

One marked D27 S4 assume series 4. (3.73 and up)
One marked D44 S3 assume series 3. (3.73 or less)
If you can get closer pictures of the stamping you could verify with google.

I tried to get close ups of the numbers but it was very hard to see.

    I will try again.

What are these considered, limited slips or full time locked?

They are both limited slips. The number on the D27 unit doesn't match any on my lists; 23197X ?

OK, I'll say it, toss the Track loc if you plan on any difficult wheeling. They are marginal in strength when new and not worth rebuilding. I have seen seceral of these that broke the thin wall of the case. Also, I don't believe they can be rebuilt except by sending them out. The Powerloc is a great unit, especially for a front axle.

FWIW I suspect the track loc is out of a '70 or new axle and more then likely is for 30 spline axles.
Since your posting on this forum you are more likely to have 10 or 19.....

Another member of the broken TracLock club. They also break spider gears.

I would not throw it away - they have really good manners on the street, and can work well in a front axle (as I gather). Someone may want it, say a Wagoneer owner for their front axle. Much less impact load on a front axle. Count the splines on the side gears so you know what you have.

They can be rebuilt with some simple home-made tools. Check this tech article from the Randy's site - Trac-Lok Assembly Made Easy

Thanks for all the replys. I don't think I am going to use these. I may sell them. Do you know what a fair price could be for each of them?

    Thank you,
