Interesting. Is there an adapter between the trans and bell?

Looks like it's an adapter-bellhousing. Back in the day, quite a few of those were offered. It looks like a 198/215 bell to me too.

The difference is in what is said and what happens.
When e weight is in movement, the weight increase due to the movement.
And you have the resistance of the parts in motion. It increase the weight.
It means that you need to have a power neatly above the wight because you have these datas to add.

I'm surprised that jeeps with transplanted Buick aluminum V-8 don't show up on eWillys. I would think the lighter weight V8 would have been a popular swap back in the early 60's. Maybe due to fewer donor salvage cars, difficult to find adapter, maybe just harder to swap in.

Would like to see pics of what you built. Thinking of building a gantry crane myself.

"The aluminium engine was relatively expensive to produce, however, and it suffered problems with oil and coolant sealing, as well as with radiator clogging from use of antifreeze incompatible with aluminium. As a result, GM ceased production of the all-aluminium engine after 1963"

Rover later used those, or something like it.
