Working on the front turn signal housing on my '56.
Original wiring was gone, the tail extension/bulb hold has rotted away.
Have a replacement 2 wire (1157 bulb) holder and I need to epoxy/ JB weld it into the housing.
Will there be a sufficient ground path using expoy/JB weld?
No one makes replacements for this style I can find, so McGyver it is...

    No.

JB Weld is epoxy filled with some metal powder. However, it won't conduct well enough for this. You can test it - make a blob, let it harden and measure the resistance with your multimeter. Anything more than a few ohms is too much.

An alternative might be to solder a wire to the outside of the bulb holder and run that to ground. Then glue into the reflector. Use a stranded wire; uninsulated flat braided wire would work well. Or any stranded wire with a lot of fine strands.

    Vermont.

Don't know exactly what you have to work with but if you haven't, look up 1157 lamp sockets, there are several styles that may simplify your work.
