I have searched and found a number of good threads on the subject, but I'm pretty new to this. Never had front drums on a 4x4 before.

I need to remove the Warn Hubs to get the drum off? They are not budging with PB Blaster (for a week) and a hammer.

Here are a couple pix. Its a Dana 30 on a 53 CJ3A. I was told there were a lot of parts swapped from an early CJ5 (so I posted here).

are they 11" brake drums? a couple smacks with the hammer on the face of the drum between the studs should do the trick; hit in all 5 areas all the way around. The hubs don't need to come off if that's the case.
I wouldn't expect someone to install older swaged set-ups back onto a D30, but I suppose anything is possible.
from the drum design and the pic, it almost looks like they are swaged; in that case, the locking hub and wheel bearings will hace to come off to remove hub/drum as an assembly.

    You need a BFH. :)

Whack it around the perimeter on the face and it will loosen up.

Looks like it's rusted itself to the lugs and hub, which is common.

Wear a face mask and/or avoid the dust... even if that thing doesn't still have asbestos linings on the shoes, you still don't want to breathe in that crap.

Just for the record, Early 5's never left the factory with a D30 front axle. ;)

Look swaged to me, too. I'm pretty sure in that one shot from the top I can see the threads stop short of the drum. Here is a pic of the non-swaged 10":

Ok. Thanks for the help so far. I took a couple closer shots and brushed things off.

It is an early Lock-O-Matic. and they look swaged. So how do I get to the brakes, wheel cylinder, etc.

:? He said he posted it here because he knew that the Jeep had several "Early 5" parts on it...

D30s came on the Intermediates and up.

Doesn't matter where it's posted in this case since the D30 is so commonly swapped into earlier Jeeps. My point was just that it's not an Early 5 part.

Yup... thanks for the clearer pic, disregard what I was saying earlier, you'll just make a lot of noise and not accomplish anything. :D

keep in mind that the outer nut with those hubs may have tiny allen screws that tighten into the slots on the lockring, and do yourself a favor if it does have this setup <use a quality allen wrench!> not some made in china thing,ie craftsman, snapon, mac

that just didnt look right mean to say craftsman, snapon, mac would be a good choice,if you stripout one of these allen screws, there is hell to pay in removal
