Hello, I mentioned in my first post about acquiring my 55 Willy's. I need to know something. It is completely original but if I install a roll bar will it loose value once it is restored? Also what type of roll bars are you using from the pics I have seen in the gallery? They all look the same. Where is the best place to get one? I also have another issue that happened today with the jeep and I will make a separate thread on it.

    Thanks

First thing, if you plan on using the Jeep, how valuable is your life?

As far as I know nobody is offering a bolt in cage for the early cjs. So your options are to find a good used one or have someone build something for you. Most people use 1.75x.120 wall DOM tubing.

Quadra Tech and the like sell the rear "sport" bars. I don't think they have the front hoops anymore. Custom fab shop is an option...

Might want to look at that cage a little closer, like how far behind the seat the B pillar is. It looks right in those pics b/c they've done the wheel well notch. Also look how the B pillar attatches to the Base plate. It looks like they either butt it up to another bar or it slides into the bottom piece. Also Id make sure to find out what material they are using because DOM tubing is not very cheap right now, and It would be difficult to buy the amount of steel to build that cage much less bend, fit and notch the bars for the price they are selling the kits for.

Well, for me, I just need the front hoop and spreaders.... I can birdmouth them...
If it's decent DOM, that two piece front hoop kit @ $180 free shipping would be fine....

While I haven't seen those cage kits in person, I have dealt with Mike (owner of Complete Offroad) in the past and he's a stand up guy. If those cages are like any of his other work or products, they're good quality. Just thought I'd throw that in there...
