I remember reading somewhare in the internet about smaller or minin starters being put onto v8 engine swaps in jeeps to help with clearance issues. Does anyone know who would make one for the 4.3l v6(91-93 out of fullsize van). I looked at summit racing but all i found was one listed for a 4.3l V8 for a 75 nova and that does not sound right to me.

Why do you need the smaller size? Seems up and out of the way on mine.:?

i read that when doing a v6 or v8 conversion (whicj i have not done yet just prepping) that the motor has to be moved to the side and forward alot to clear the front driveshaft so i figure i am going to put a new starter on anyway and figure the a mini starter would be the way to go cause it will help solve any clearance issues down the road.

I use it on mine. O'reilly auto parts Ultima brand part # 47153X. Any parts store should be able to cross it to their brand.

If anything, you would hit the bellhousing first. The clearance issue would be the the steering shaft on the drivers side and distributor.

My front driveshaft hits my starter...CJ-2A w/225. The compact starter sounds like it might be a good idea.
