Hi guys, I am looking to add a lift to my recently acquired CJ and have searched and have come up confused. I am going to be running 33x12.5x15 TSL's or Boggers on 15x10 Ar-767 I want clear them with the minimal amount of lift. I am looking at 2.5 or 4" and wonder what if any mods need to be done to the Ross steering setup??? I have only lifted Saginaw equipped Jeeps. I do not mind cutting/trimming for extra clearance and may run TJ flares. Any info on this...heck post some pics to as we all like pics...Thanks--Dan

I'd think the main problem with lift and the Ross steering would be the bump steer. You can remedy that with a 1-piece tie rod conversion.

I recall you can fit 33s without cutting if you add some lift. No personal experience - just what I recall - others will post with specifics. Either that or call Bob Supplee and see what he recommends. He's in the "parts" sticky thread at the top of the forum.

Thanks for the link..looks like I may have to go that route. On my old CJ7 I ran a 2.5" with 33's...for some reason the 4" kits look big on the CJ5's.

I had some rubbing issues on the rear fenderwells running 2 1/2" lift springs and 33x12.50x15 at full compress on my cj6......may be able to alleviate the problem with bump stops...........I went taller

bkd, I see you went to Wrangler springs, did you use offset shackles or go with new mounts.

What about these black diamond 3.5" lifts i keep hearing guys talk about ? Are these old school or are they still sold today ? Where can i find one ? I was planning on a 4" lift to run 33" tires but 3.5" may be enough for me .
