i have read the tech section on tub and frame differences but it doesnt say anything about the front floor sections. i know the rear frame section is where the 76+ get wider and the mounts change but what about from the firewall to the riser? are the body mounts and toe supports the same? i know there are seat mounting differences and no under seat toolbox but that would make it easier for me to mount my mastercraft seats anyway. i ask because i can get a new 76+ cj5 pan locally from a guy who is parting out his project and it is on the cheap.

WAYYYYYY too many differences in the floor pan for pre-76 vs 76+. It would take a serious amount of hacking to get them remotely similar and maybe work.

I have a '74 and tried to make it work, we gave up and patched my old floor.

I replaced this panel on my 75 CJ5 with one that I purchased. The new one was for a 76 and up.... I don't remember the exact years.... anyway, Luckily, I did a fit check to my frame because even though the panel fit well to the tub.... the hat channels did not fit at all... they had to be removed and relocated.... I also modified the transmission cover.... other than that, it was not too bad.... BTW, I removed the toolbox from another tub and replaced my original along the way.... I could have removed it and left it off....

If the price is cheap enough, you can likely make it work. It won't fit nice like the Classic Enterprises floors, but it's basically the right shape, and the width is right.

Depends on what you want when you're done. The later floor certainly will not look like the original floor, and you need to be able to do some basic metal work.

JMO - unless the floor is cheaper than buying a flat sheet of metal, I'd go with the flat sheet and shape that to fit. Mostly you need to be able to make the long bend that kicks up to the floor boards, but you can make a crude bender to do that.

The Classic Enterprises floors are quite nice, from what I've read here...

it is cheap, thats the only reason i have been considering it. i may just do the classic enterprises floor to keep things simple and save myself some headaches.
