top speed

    I 'm not to good at math . and i would find out the top speed for my jeep
    it has a v6 3 speed 4:88 gears 31" tires . dana 18 . or can anyone show me how to do the math . thanks

    I have 5:38's with the o.d. and 34" tires. At 70 I tach about 2800. Without the o.d. it's closer to 3300-3500 RPM. Not sure though as I have not run the hwy. without the overdrive engaged.

    One thing to remember on these calculatoions is that 33" tires are normally about 32". Use the real size of a 33" or 31" or whatever tire, thus giving the true spped, instead of a slightly hire MPH than true.

    I agree Doug. My calculations are based on actually driving it, and looking at the tach and speedo. I figure my 34's are really about 33" tall.

    I get 57 at 3000 and 75mph at 4000 RPM, 4.88, 31" tires using Novak's calculator.
