The new baja jp seat will be a better fit, due to the lower side bolster, makes it easier to get in and out of.

I've got both the Baja Ultra and Baja Ultra Wides in my M-715. They're really comfortable, but the fabric has faded from black to purple/blue. The cloth isn't holding up that well compared to the Empi Race Trim, Mastercraft, PRP, or Beard seats I've used in the past.

I think they're good seats and certainly worth the $$$, but I'd recommend going with the vinyl if you do Corbeau. If you want a low-buck fabric seat check the Empi Race Trims. If you want quality, get Mastercraft.

I have the Baja RS seats in my 3B and have been very pleased so far-much better than the Subaru seats that were there before. They have only been installed for about 9 months so do not know about the fading issue. The Smitty G.E.A.R seat covers did not work on these seats. The high bolsters caused the seat portion of the cover to rip with less than 200 miles of use.

I have owned them and Mastercrafts. In the future I will go mastercraft all the way. There is a night and day difference. Mastercraft is a real suspension seat.

    Thanks
Cool M-715, I like the Mastercraft a friend has them in his YJ, But dang they are expensive. I like the baja ss & the baja jp. I think they all beat the van seats I have now. Althought the van seats are comfortable they are just coming apart.

How did you mount them? Are you still able to flip up the passenger seat?

I have just installed them in our 1975 CJ6, It's the same as a CJ5 as far as mounting over the passenger tool box. I used the original seat mounts/supports that came on that year. If you use the "Low Back" type you will not have any problems. But the High Backs will not give you enough room to get inside the tool box. And it will be extremely difficult to get in the back seat due to the seat not going far enough forward. Email me if you want some pictures of our Corbeau seat installed on the old seat frames.

    Hope this helps,

If youcould post the pics I'd appreciate it or PM them to me as well. I'm planning the same set up for my 73 CJ6, but with the reclining Baja; I figured they will help with the access issues hopefully.

Here's our 1975 CJ6 being fitted with Corbeau seats. I used the original seat brackets for that year. The driver's side only required drilling a new hole. But the passenger side we welded on two pieces of flat bar stock we purchased at Lowes. I think I used 3"x24" 10 gauge.http://[IMG]

Brett, One other thing I ordered the "Low Profile" seat slider directly from Corbeau themselves. I couldn't find it where I bought the seats from. Only Corbeau offered them. If you buy the sliders then you don't need a adapter just the seat frames/brackets. Here's is what the sliders looked like. Tell Corbeau you just want the sliders only. They ran me $75.00 back in August 2011. You will not need the bottom bracket that is pictured.

Corbeau reclining buckets. Still not a lot of room. I should have done the fender mod. The reclining buckets will give you room to get into the toolbox and also take the seat out. I had to change the factory mounts because of PO hack job on them.

I too installed the Baja seats in my 75 CJ5. I modified the existing brackets as others here posted.. I ended up dpoing a wheel house notch on both sides as both seats were too far forward. The Baja seats are a bit deeper than the OEM's..

Ken Miracle, I ma interested those front seat belts.. How did you mount the shoulder straps?

Zila, I am planning on mounting the inertia reel for the shoulder harness to the Roll Bar. I tried to mount it there like 1980s CJ7. The only problem is the Roll Bar is mounted to the top of the Wheel Well Housing. And on the CJ6 the wheel well is pretty far back from the front seats. It really stretches out the shoulder harness. We haven't decided yet if this ideal is final. Any CJ6 owners have any better ideas?

    Thanks in advance, Ken
