Yeah, I know this has been beat to death, but I am not all that bright and would like a few things cleared up to soothe me, despite all of the research I have done. First a link of interest:

    http://207.158.221.52/gw/alt/edge_Alternator_Theory.html

I read the content on this page a few times as well as the discussion on this group, but I still have a few questions about the CS130D I am about to install.
    1. I have read that the L terminal should be connected to an indicator light. No problem, the jeep has one and it is already wired from the ignition to the indicator then to the alternator, but does the alternator use this terminal or the sense terminal to sense voltage drops, or both the sense and indicator?
    2. The S terminal is the sense terminal and it should be connected to the ignition solenoid I terminal, but according to my TSM the regulator has a .82ohm resistor inside to provide a constant voltage drop to excite the stator. Does the GM regulator have this resistor?
    3. Is the I terminal the best location to sense voltage? Some articles I have read suggest hooking the sense wire right to the battery, but would this cause the alternator to cycle; the sense wire senses a voltage drop charges and the sense wire sense enough voltage and shuts the alt down and so on.
    4. I know I should upgrade the charge wire so that it can handle the extra current (105A), but what about everything else? I dont think that an upgrade is really needed elsewhere except for that pesky amp meter. I plan on removing it (soldering the yellow wires that feeds the ampmeter together) and installing a voltmeter instead.

    Thanks for your time,

    Karl
