Is there an external physical difference between an Prestolite or Delco or whatever starter. I have a 68 CJ5 with F-134 engine and would like to purchase brushes before I pull the starter out. If there is a way to identify by description. I don't have a photobucket account to post a picture.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Only a very limited number of Delco Remy parts were ever used on F134 Jeeps.
Delco Remy was a "secondary substite standard" in 1959 and 1960.
    See: http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Tech/DelcoRemy.html

If the Jeep was equipped with Delco Remy starter the generator and distributor will also be Delco Remy.
Do not interchange any parts between Delco Remy and Autolite (AKA Prestolite).
Use one system or the other and not both together.

Thank you for the prompt feedback. I guess I'm safe to order brushes for Prestolite.
