Ok, I've got a question for you guys. I was installing my Holley Street dominator intake, it has a spot for an egr, but nothing a block off plate can't handle. However, I did notice there is a hole about the size of a quarter maybe a little bigger towards the right rear of the intake that goes straight into the valley ie: I can see pushrods etc. No threads are in this hole. Curious what it might be for and what I can do to fill it if its not needed. If pics are needed let me know and I'll try to run out there and take some. Thanks guys.

Doesn't the PCV valve plug into the valve cover?

On the dauntless motor the pcv valve fits in a hole in the intake behind the carb. The valve cover should have a port to attach a hose to.

Hmmm, might you or anyone have a pic of the PCV installed in the intake?

LittlepurpleCJ: Yes let's see a pic of what you're talking about. Thanks!

It's for the PCV valve. That's an intake for a 231 as they had the PCV valve in the intake right where he describes. That PCV hole is a dead giveaway to tell a 231 intake from a 225. Nickmil.

Would this intake still work for my purposes being that it is for a 231?

It would work but unless you do some port work to the heads and manifold the ports won't line up correctly. You would be better off finding one for a 225 unless you can determine that it is for an early 231. The ports on the early 231 are very close to the 225. Nickmil.

Next question, where would I go about finding a PCV valve grommet that would fit into this intake? I believe it is for an early 231. It fits exactly in the same place as the old 2bbl intake. I'll measure the ports later to see if there is a size difference. Thanks guys.

My 225 had a pcv port behind the carb, It was a offenhauser 4 barrel intake for a 225.
