I found a couple Narrow trac Dana 30s with disc brakes. They are out of a 80 CJ-5 I am told. Gears are supposedly 3.54s. Does this sound right? I am looking to replace my Dana 25. How deep of gears are available and would this axle be a good swap to my 47 CJ-2A.

Common gear ratios from '72-'75 were 3.73, from '76-'79 were 3.54, and from '80-'86 were 2.73. Depending on your powerplant and the intended use, the 3.54 might be enough gear. It will certainly make a nice street gear, and you always have the option of dropping in a tera-low kit and/or a tranny with a low 1st gear for off-road use.

    Lotsa good info here:
