my current springs are clapped. i got them i thought they were 6cyl wrangler springs, but they turned out to be 4 cyl. I then aded a leaf in there to stiffen them up, which worked by now they are sagging. My questions is that i can get a set of YJ 4cyl springs again for free if i pay shipping, but is the leaf spring pack, is the strength on the multiple leaves or is it the main leaf that is the stronger one?? So if i throw another set of 4 cyl springsin, then the 4 cyl main leaf will fail?? or are the main leafs the same and the other leave sare what add the strength?? So i could add a leaf again.

All the YJ springs I've used have been the same for 4- or 6-cylinder. I use 5-leaf rear YJ packs on the front and rear of my '53. Only difference I've found is the packs on the '90-earlier (or thereabouts) are taper-cut and the later ones are rounded with slightly better nylon inserts and better spring pack clamps. The 4-leaf front packs are good to make custom packs with. My buddy used to take them apart, cut the eyes off the main leaf, and install it under the 5-leaf rear pack main to make a 6-leaf on his V8-powered flattie.
