Pertronix clarification needed

I am looking to buy and install the Pertronix upgrade. I have the factory set up--Delco Distributor with the vacuum line. 225 v6. I think I need a Pertronix part #1165 but my local parts store said it may be the 1162A because of the vacuum advance. They also said I needed to replace the coil. I think I am correct with the #1165 but do I need the coil as well for it to work? Anyone who has done this please confirm the part number and coil requirement.

I bought the matching pertronix coil. I emailed Pertronix and they sent the part numbers based on the number on the dizzy. I ordered the set from Summit Racing, not that it matters but the price was good and I like their customer service.

 

You need part # 1165. You can use any 3.0 ohm coil. Pertronix recommends their Flamethrower coil for optimum performance.

 

Thank you. Sounds like I should upgrade the coil with the Flamethrower and that #1165 is the correct part. I will be going to Summit in Sparks NV this week. I will double check the distributor part number if I can find it.
