Could someone measure their Jeep for me real quick? Mine's in winter storage at the moment. I need to know the width inside the bed between the rear wheel wells. I'm considering putting a wide, but tall and skinny fuel cell behind the seats. Anyone ever done that before?

36" is a net measurement. If I were building a tank for that area I wouldn't go wider than 35 3/4" though.

I measured at the top corners of the fenderwells and mine is a '67.

My '60 is 36 1/2" at the tailgate and 35 7/8" at the top in the front. Inside to inside.
Don't have the measurements from original anymore, although somewhere on the web is a set of mechanical drawings of an early CJ5 showing widths and hieth (spelling) from level ground up.

Included things like the distance between the lower edge of the steering wheel to the front of the drivers seat where your knees would be.
