Hi, I have 16" NDT tube tire on my jeep and I went to a tire shop to try to get them balance and he told me he could not do it on his equipment and I needed something like an old school bubble balancer. I started looking into this and I found this product...

    HTML:
    http://www.centramatic.com/wheel-balance.rhtml?type=Light-Duty
    Anybody uses this?

I am wary of putting anything inside the tire like Dynabead.

Any other ideas or opinion on the best way to balance the NDT tire would be appreciated?

Why are you afraid of Dyna beads they were designed for much larger tires than yours. I run them in my motorcycle at high speed with no problems.

Dunno - I have no real rational reasons to be wary of Dyba beads except that I am an old geezer and I am use to weights attached to a rim + I like something that's easily re-movable without having to scrap four tubes.

But if you insist that they work really well then that's would be definitely interesting to me.

I tried to put dynabeads in my NDT's but I can't get the little 8~@@#&$ to go down the valve stem. :(

I'd check with a different tire shop My local shop had no problem spin balancing 16" tube NDT 's on stock rims (other than my spare because the rim was bent)

I don't see why you couldn't spin balance them.

ya...bring it to an old school tire shop. find the oldest person there and have him do it. lol

To install dyna beads pull the shraeder valve and use a small engraving tool to vibrate the valve stem.
The beads will vibrate thru the stem in about 15 seconds. Pouring them in is an exercise in futility.

Ideas like dyna beads have been around since horse-and-buggy days. Always sounded like magic JC-Whitney snake oil to me.

Can someone explain logically how tire beads would "know" to go to the opposite side of the tire that one would think centrifugal force would naturally throw them?

The "official" info available seems limited to cartoons and anecdotal enthusiasm, not actual physics.

I went to a second tire shop yesterday evening and he told me that I needed to go to a shop that can deal with larger truck tire. The issue apparently is the hub size in the rim... the smaller tire shop don't have the adaptors that fit the size of the hole in the steel rims. I'll try the one shop he suggested today and see what happen - if I don't have a any success with that then I'll order Dyna Beads.

    As for this comment
The Centramatic web site has a good video on how their system works - with actual images of the product in action...

    http://www.centramatic.com/videos.rhtml

that said, my issue with Dyna beads (compare to the Centramatic product) was the size and number of balls and the fact that they are inside the tire rolling around + on the web, there are a few people very happy with the product and others not so happy.

That's either total b.s. or the worst equipped tire shop in the world. The center hole in a CJ rim isn't any bigger than the wheels on a 3/4 ton pickup...

So wouldn't something like "SLIME" squired into the inner tube perform the same balancing act as balance beads ?
Anyone have any experience with that ?

That report was painful, and I actually do vibration analysis of large rotors.. Anyhow, from a practical measure, the dyna beads work well. As time goes on I am migrating all of my vehicles to them. I put them in my XJ with factory wheels and 31 x 10.5 BFG AT KO and they work great.. I even used them in one wheel with a well worn used tire previously balanced in the conventional manner and they performed just fine. No more weights, reusable and lifetime balance.. What more could I ask for.

try them without balancing first. I only balance tires if there is a definate vibration. It rarely happens atleast from my expierience. I have 11 vehicles only 1 pair had to be balanced. But I know ndts tend to suck in that department

Found a shop that can deal with the monster mudder and truck tires. They usually try to balance them with weights - if they require too much weight then they use the equivalent to Dyna beads. I have an appointment on Friday. Thanks for all the comments by the way.
