Trying to mount my engine today, and the mounts don't seem to be lining up. I put a strap around the bumper and pulled the engine forward but then it won't drop down. Had a hell of a time getting it in, did I do something wrong? Is there a trick I'm missing?

when I replaced my mounts I bolted them to the engine first because I had the same problem. it went fine for me after that. also keep the bolts and nuts loosely assembled until everything is lined up. also the mount bolts to the frame (the smaller mount bolts had slotted holes in my frame for a little adjustment)

Thanks! It's getting dark here now but I'll grab trouble light and give it a try. Really would like to get this done tonight.

Yep. If it was a vertical drop then they would line up fine. Trying to line up angles like that just won't work that way. :)

The frames on these vehicles are so flexible and shift so much that it's common for these issues.

Yes! It took some pulling and pushing, but that worked like magic. In fact I feel a little foolish for not thinking of it in the first place. Thank you very much for your help!
