Heater Blower Motor

I've started cleaning my heater components; took them off last year because the were rusted due to leakage in the core. Additionally, when it was repainted by the PO, the painter didn't mask it, so lots of overspray.

When I pulled the motor, the squirrel cage didn't rotate smoothly, like it's gummed up. Wiping it down didn't make it spin better, so I opened up the motor. Lots of black stuff, so I presume the smoke was let out. It sort of worked in past, but never moved much air. Of course, I've read lots of other threads and they all seem to say the motor don't move much air...

This thread, discusses replacing the motor with the PM102, a near drop in replacement. (??). I'm just about ready to pull the trigger, as the price is right, but I was wondering if anyone has tried other motors, or motor/fan combos? Amazon lists this fan, as an example of what I'd love to find, just drop it in if the squirrel cage is the right size.
