Borg Warner T 90 Rear Bearing Question

    I'm rebuilding a T90 tranny, the old rear bearing to the transfer case had no lock ring or groove. My new rebuild part has both ? Could it be the bearing is multi purpose for other apps?

    I see no need or place for a lock ring, this is my first rebuild so I'm just curious.
