1/8 of a turn is 45 degrees. That's WAAAAAAAAY too much slop. Even a sixteenth is unacceptable for play in the timing. If it were mine, I'd pull the distributor to check the gear and bushings. If those seem okay, it sounds like time (no pun intended) for a new timing chain.

Plug wire reistance in K-Ohms (I think). Main-5.5;(1)9.6; (2)15.3); (3)10.3; (4)14.6; (5) 11.4; (6) 11.4. They are Accel? Super stock wires (yellow). Accel super coil. What do yall think?

Not bad, but kind of high. The longest wire on my MSD Superconductor's has 47 ohms, not K ohm's either.

Maybe I was just reading it wrong. They were probably like 11,000 Ohms, 15,000 Ohms. This is Ok though right?

An old rule of thumb for plug wire resistance was 1K ohm per foot.

That being said, checking the resistance of the plug wires isn't going to tell you if the insulation is any good.

The miniscule voltage the DVOM sends through the wire for measuring resistance isn't going to arc through the insulation. On a running engine with over 10Kv passing through those same wires, you could be losing firing voltage if the insulation is shot and it's arcing to ground. If you question them at all, you should just replace them IMO...

Mruta: Great advice. "When in doubt, change them out".
