I have recently pulled the engine and had it rebuilt, but I decided to re-install it myself... painfully, I'm having some difficulty getting it slipped back into place inside the engine compartment and seated to the clutch spline and housing assembly.. does anyone know of any publications that talk the DIY'r thru a Jeep "pull-out and re-install" procedures, along with tips and tricks to getting things to line up properly.

    Thanks!

If you are trying to put the engine in the mounts while the transmission and transfercase are still in there its doable but very very difficult, I myself would remove the transmission and such and put the engine in and then the drivetrain. Did you use an alignment tool to line up the pilot bushing with the clutch splines so that they were in a straight line with each other, if not, you're never gonna get it in.

    What engine? V6?

If so, :D I've done it a dozen time or so with the tranny still in. I find it easier to do it that way than what Mike said because of the tools I have/don't have available. How far are you able to get it in? Got a pic or 2?
