In my garage cleaning fest yesterday I uncovered my jeeps original locking hubs. The oil / grease is set up like asphalt, but I am going to clean them up. In looking at them yesterday I noticed they used ball bearings to engage the axle.
Does anyone have any experience with these? Are the pretty reliable? I am considering putting them back on in place.

I do not belive it!

I have asked a technical question and no one has an opinion.

I don't know anything about the Kellys, but what hubs are on the Jeep now?

I put on a set of Superwinch hubs. I understand that they are prone to letting water in. I am wondering if the Kellys are as durable or maybe even more durable as well less prone to leaking.

I've had 2 sets of Superwinch hubs on full size trucks and they both broke. As I remember part of the locking mechanism was a thin ring that didn't last. Maybe they make them better now, I don't know. I'm sure other people have used them with no problem, that's just my experience. ;)

Im planning on running the kelly hubs on my -3b, but havent got to try them yet. I have already torn mine apart and cleaned them up though, and by the looks of it they are very well built.
