Yf Carb Mod, Adjust Metering Rod Without Top Removal?

    Anyone moded their yf to be able to adjust the rod without removing the top?
    I'm kinda OCD about carbs. Not uncommon for me to remove and adjust 20-30 times.
    A correctly tuned carb should act almost like FI.
    I like them Perfect, or as close as I can get?
    Seems like while doing research on these YFs, I found a post on another forum
    About drilling a hole in top for rod adjustment? Anyone seen or done this.?

    The best mod I've found for the Carter YF is a Solex.

    I don’t know about the solex but my yf worked flawlessly for years. The gent who got it is still running it. To the op no idea about the rod adjustment I jus pulled the top.

    The metering rod adjustment can be done successfully by removing the top one time if you are patient. It just takes a bit of experimenting, making the adjustment and testing until you are satisfied it's correct.
