Looking at the wiper motors for the '76 & up they look the same as the earlier ones I had.

    Are they?

Mike I used one from a 1976 on my 1970. The only difference was the mounting bracket on the end of the motor . It caused me to drill a new mounting hole. My frame is very rusted and I need a new one so it wasn't a big deal.

Thanks...if I can't source a used one, the '76 and up ones are going for $60 on eBay vs. $95 for the "correct" one from 4WD Hardware...

    hey Boyink,
I got mine today. It is a 4 wire unit whereas my 74 was a 3 wire. What is the other wire for do you know? There is a red, blue, black and green wire. I think the red is high speed green is low speed don't know what blue and black are used for.

Hmm...'76 - '83 should be 3 wire just like the earlier ones. That's what I got off eBay.

Not sure what the other wire is for...on the 3 wire black is park, green is low speed and red is high speed. The motor grounds through the case.
