I see you can buy a plate adaptor for a t90 short shaft tranny to BOP bellhops. If I go this route and leave tranny in stock place, would there be any firewall issues?
    Thanks

Yes you’d have to move transfer case foreword about 2-1/2” so the odd fire does not hit the flat fender’s firewall.

Is it a flat fender or a 5? On a 5, you'd hit the firewall, the trans would have to be moved forward.

How far forward do you have to move it on a 5? Does the radiator become an issue?

When I put a 215 alloy Buick in my Tux decades ago, I used the shallow 198 bellhousing and left the trans/transfer case in the stock location. This put the engine 3+ inches into the firewall, which I cut away. My throttle pedal was bolted to the back of the cylinder head.
The Jeep ended up under 2000lb, and with the engine moved rearward, this was the best Jeep I've ever had for traction. I seldom needed 4wd, even in deep, soft sand. Moving all that weight off the front end transformed its offroad manners.
