I have looked through 8 pages of threads relating to clutch linkage issues and didn't find what I needed. Here is what I have, a 1971 cj5 that I am putting swinging pedals in. How should I set up the clutch linkage. I was thinking of using the standard rod and bell crank set up but not sure if I should use the 72-75 parts or 76-86 parts. What's the difference anyways? Or is there a better way to go? Hydraulics seem to complicated and costly for me at this time. Please help.

I installed Hydraulic in my 66 to get rid of the "complicated" linkage, I also have hanging pedals. Actually the hydraulic system is easy to install. I used a master cylinder (3/4" bore) from a Wrangler and bought the kit from Novak, includes the slave cylinder, bracket, and TB fork. I added a brace for the slave cylinder. The hardest part was swapping the TB fork, which is a stock GM part for the V6. I also had to fabricate a rod from the pedal to the Master, make sure it is not too long or you will wreck the master. Just an FYI if you are still thinking about a hydraulic system. It is easy and not much different in price.
