I’m putting together an updated engine for my ‘75 CJ and I’m looking for a new flywheel. I understand that can probably have mine resurfaced but I won’t be pulling the engine for a bit yet and I’d like to just have new anyhow so there’s no surprises.

What years should I be looking for if none of the typical parts stores offers anything specifically for my ‘75? Jeep currently has a 258/T14. Thanks, all.

Needs to be specific to your engine. I “think” the 232/258 are the same but all others are balanced different. 304 different from 360 different from 401, etc.

V8 or inline 6? I think the 304 and 360 can interchange, and also think the 232 and 258 interchange. Just make sure to match the engine configuration matches yours.

Edit: I’ll defer to Nick’s expertise on the different V8 flywheels.

    I didn't specify... I've got a 258 and a T14.

Looking to order parts. 1976 flywheel the same as ‘75?

Yup. Should be. I’ve never seen a difference in them although I’m not an expert on these.
