My old 1st gen toyota tacoma has finally died. It has over 300k miles on the clock and needs an engine rebuild and at this millage the rest of the drivetrian and suspension needs to be gone through. So with no time for yet another long term project i decided to replace it.

I picked up a new gmc sierra 1500 4x4 a few days ago. Pickup trucks sure have come along way in the last few years. Its the best riding truck i have ever driven and has more electronic features than ill ever need. I already ordered a tonneau cover and running boards for it and stay stock for now.

Im having trouble adding a picture, ill try again later

I thought i would be able to fight the urge lift the truck a little longer but i gave in and got an Eibach pro-truck coilover 2.5" lift kit. I also ordered a upper control arm from BDS to correct alignment geometry and ball joint angles. Unfortunately its backordered and a couple weeks out.

I like the stock wheels just not the size. 20" wheels on a 4x4 always gave me the mall crawler vibes. I found these wheels by icon vehicle dynamics in a 17x8.5. They have a similar look to the stock wheels that i like and they are one of the few aftermarket wheels that dont have fake beadlocks. Im probably going with toyo open country at tires when i figure out what size to get.

I finally got around to installing the 2.5" eibach coilovers and BDS upper control arms. It started raining half way through so the rear shocks and 1" lift block have to wait. The original wheels i picked only had 3 in stock and the 4th was back ordered 8-10 weeks. I got tired of waiting so luckily i was able to exchange them for these wheels which i actually like better. Tires are toyo open country A/T 3 IN 285/75R17. They measure about 34"x11.5". You can also see the BAK revolver tonneau and rough country running boards.
