They have 19-spline inner axle shafts and 10 spline outers. They also have a strange offset to the carrier so the gears don't work with other D44 carriers.

In a nutshell they are weaker than a D30 in the parts that are likely to break but it does get you into a bolt-in D44 housing with disk brakes for pretty cheap.

It can be made into a strong axle with a locker, new gears, 30 spline axles, and matching locking hubs but then you've spent an additional couple of grand on it and maybe in the same price range as a custom built D44. For a cheaper solution, a 19 spline lunchbox locker and some 19 spline outers/hubs would make the Roxor axle decent enough for most things.

I think if your price out the cost of having a shop narrow up a D44 to CJ width, the Roxor 44 is a good good start.
East coast gear supply sells a CJ width D44 without carrier or gear for $4,800 https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-23173923-dana-44-cj-front-bolt-in-axle-assembly.html
That said, if you narrow a D44 up yourself, you would save a bunch of money. Depending on your location you may be able to get a choppable housing for anywhere from free to $500.
I plan to only use the housing from the Roxor 44 that I bought and sell off the rest. I can't buy a housing and have my local shop narrow it for $1200 out the door. I also trust the Roxor housing will be straighter than one my local shop chops and welds.

With 30 spline ARB and RCV axle shafts it should be pretty stout for a CJ and v8 HP.
That said I have no intention of using it in my jeep.
It's for a project that I'm just accumulating parts for. Intermediate CJ6, TDK frame, ZZ4 crate engine, TR4050 5 speed.......

ECG only offers a wide track 44 at 57" WMS. I wonder if they could do a narrow version and the price adds up. This could easily add up to more than some have
purchased their jeeps for. This is more for the bigboy crowd.

That sounds like an awesome project but you were supposed to put the Roxor Axle in the CJ-5 and sell me your RCV shafts super cheap. :D

On a side note. RCV isn't listing the narrow track D30 axles on their site now. I would imagine you can order them custom but it doesn't look like they stock them as an off the self product anymore.

I was considering sticking the Roxor 44 in the front of my CJ-5, but realistically the D30 with ARB, RCV shafts and super voodoo 3.31 gear ratio...... the intentional weak link is the locking hub, which is a pretty easily field replaced part.

I've got a V8 and a truck 4spd to blow mine up with. And I want a front locker which makes it even worse.

I've also got a D25 with the V8 and 465....but it'll stay open (for now).
Of course....since I am not 100% convinced of the D25 with the v8....been keeping my eye on these:

price seems right, good size swap for the 58 - a bit rough but probably salvageable (?)....almost in ITLKSEZ neighborhood

That's the key phrase "having a shop..." just makes it prohibitive. I'll wade in, the problem I see, is you need new gears, new carrier/locker, new axle shafts, inner and outer. Not sure about the brakes. And are you getting the width you want? If (big if) you can do it yourself, round numbers:
    Junk yard 44- $150
    Cut, turn, weld-free
    Perches-$30
    Locker -$700
    Gears, bearings-$350
    Set up-free
    Shafts, re-spline-$200
    Ujoints, seals, yoke,misc-$150
    Brakes-$300
Spindles (if it didn't come w/ Chevy small bearing)-$150
    Ford hubs-$150
    Wheel bearings-$40
    Knuckles- junk yard hopefully, $50
Tie rods and ends, custom, $250
    Ball joints, and install $150
    Assembly-free
Up to $2700, add some nice internal spline lockouts, $2900. I had in my mind the one for the blue tux was $2800, including a lot of scrounging, trading, and parts I already had on hand. Obviously very round numbers here, but I have done it, and I think anyone here can do it.

    I completely agree!
There is some overlap between rebuilding vs buying new as well.
In my case with the Roxor axle I have on hand is:
D44 housing with new ball joints knuckles ect: $1200
Good used gear set and new bearings $250
    RCV axle shafts $1,400
    ARB locker $1,000
Transfer D30 brakes, outers ect.... free
    Gear setup @ shop rate.
Selling Roxor disc brake setup to forum member, +$400
Sell off Roxor axle shafts +$300
$3,150 plus shop rate to install gear set.
I'm spending just a little more but ending up with a brand new axle with RCV shafts.
If I weren't a little girl I would set the gears up myself...... :(

Whew, those RCV's are spendy. So far I haven't broken a junk yard shaft, so I haven't gone with those. I just carry an outer stub, ujoints, and hope I don't hurt the ears. If you do start setting up your gears, a front is not as critical, being as it will never turn very fast.

They are spendy, but ssssooooo smooth in 4 low.
I should start setting up my own gears, that's kind of a final frontier for me!

Kyle, I've done it and now pay others to do it.
I've learned that it's not necessary for me to do everything on my hobby vehicles. Somethings I've done once and that's good enough.
