Thank you for taking time to read this.

On a 1970 Dauntless V6, 86k miles, sat /used as a snow plow, oil was very dirty.
Today started the engine for the first time in several months, fresh oil and filter, cleaned oil pan and a tune up, I was getting some valve train noise that diminished the longer it ran ( coolant system not hooked up so just a short test run). Showing 50lbs. oil pressure.

Could the pushrods need their through holes cleaned out?

    Thank you!

50 PSI cold sounds good. There are no holes in the pushrods. The noise was most likly the lifters before getting pumped up. Get it running and hot then change the oil again.
Oil changes are like insurance. I like to use something with lots of ZDDP. Plenty of posts on this.

Thanks vtxtasy! I put Rotella (Zinc) 15-40 in it, I plan on draining it after a break in period to let the detergent clean it out a bit.
