I’ve always wondered what to do with all the corvettes that lost their engines to backyard jeep builds.

 

It looks good sitting in there. First time I have seen a Ford, much less a flathead, put in a Chevy and a Vette at that.
Seen plenty of Chevies put in Fords but prefer old Ford to Ford. I just walk by those. Chevy to Ford has been done
too many times.

1978, deep in the malaise era. That flathead probably has more HP than stock

 

Okay that's totally rad. I,we always been a flathead geek. And love the look of a c3. Know get a t case and some Danas. Then maybe 31 inch BFg km3. That would be different.

 

Complete with blue-tooth air conditioning.

 

It looks well executed.. I kinda like it for a cool factor and oddness, but in a vette? I would need way more herspwrs..

 

Standard engine for that year made 185 hp & 260 ft lbs torque. Remember, this was 1978!

 

That flathead stock was 100 Hp. With the tripower and good cam etc. It could be 150+ easily. Not to mention the five speed lets you use the power more. I've had quite a few miles in a c3. With 210 Hp. And it is definitely not throw you in your seat fast (a lot better than a hurricane though) but its plenty fast enough . so that setup really wouldn't be bad for street driving.
