What is the current preferred brand of 11" brake shoes you all would recommend?
I need to do a complete brake job and the last time I bought new replacement shoes was many years ago, I can't remember if they were NAPA, O'Riley's, AutoZone, Auto Value or whatever.
I have manual brakes so I am looking for organic shoes. I would rather go with bonded over riveted.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks in advance.

I used NAPA shoes 3 years ago and remain satisfied with them.

The last ones I bought were from NAPA, but probably the same thing at other FLAPS.

I was disappointed with the last 11 in shoes I bought. No matter where you buy them the new linings are going to be about 1/2 the thickness they were 10 years ago. I did a lot of research and found that most if not all brake shoes are coming from china and are very substandard, Not only are the linings very thin but the entire shoes are often poor alignment, attachment holes off alignment, parking brake pin hole wrong size ect. The lining on the new ones were about the same as my old shoes that had 30k on them. I looked unsuccessfully for someone to reline my old shoes but I still have them just in case. Lesson learned, never throw away anything, you never know when you might not be able to replace with something better.

What's in a name? I'm not sure anymore but I see Bendix, Raybestos, Bosch & AC Delco's on Rockauto.com.

My experience, brand name means very little any more. and the positive reviews of an item is of little help either.

Whatever 228 Amazon is delivering that day. Quick search gave 13 options.

    Thanks for the responses.
It is indeed a gamble buying based on name alone. As stated in the responses, many brand name products are not what they used to be, that's why I solicited personal recommendations from the members here.
